Question :
MacOS – Install Mavericks on Unsupported MacBook 4,1. Install macbook pro macos. I've spent the last 2 days trying to install Mavericks on my MacBook 4,1. It is from Early 2008. It is unsupported, but I would like to install Mavericks on it. Current OS is Mac OS X 10.7.2 (11C74) And one more thing: I don't want to give up trying.
I read somewhere that it is possible to install the latest version of OSX 10.10 Yosemite on my Mac, even though the official installer refuses to install.
Hackintosh Mavericks Installer supports AMD: Normally, computers that use AMD processors are unsupported by Mac OS X. However, Hackintosh Mavericks Installer includes experimental “patched” kernels that may allow Mac OS X to work with these processors regardless. Re: Installing on Mac OSX Mavericks (Not working) Wed Apr 23, 2014 11:28 am Below I will post you the whole log since I installed homebrew. Yosemite / Mavericks / Mountain Lion on Unsupported Mac This page is dedicated to Sfott, this “little” piece of code I did to automate the creation of USB key with the boot.efi from Tiamo’s of MacRumors. I have OSX mavericks on my imac from early 2009. Just now I bought a Victory plustek optic film 7200 negative scanner. I thought it supported mac, but this was an older version. I installed the packages for mavericks and restarted the mac, but still I don’t see the scanner in printers and scanners. The video below demonstrates a tutorial walking through the process of using the DosDude Catalina patcher tool to install the macOS 10.15 system software on an unsupported Mac. If you’re going to attempt to install MacOS Catalina on an unsupported Mac, do so at your own risk, and let us know how it goes in the comments below.
Can you give me any directions ?
Answer :
Installing newer versions of OSX on slightly older Macs that do not meet the official system requirements can be done using MacPostFactor (MCPF).
MacPostFactor also supports installing OSX versions up to OSX 10.10 Yosemite on older Macs. And a new version that supports installing OSX 10.11 El_Capitan is in the works.
For more info (and downloads), go to the info page on MacRumors.com :
or see the (less readable) official page of the MacPostFactor team :
…in short :
!!! THIS IS FOR (RATHER) EXPERIENCED MAC-USERS ONLY, AND SHOULD NOT BE DONE ON YOUR ‘ONE AND ONLY’ MAC !!!
!! REMEMBER : DO FOLLOW THE COMPLETE INSTRUCTIONS THAT CAN BE FOUND HERE : MacPost Factor info page on MacRumors.com
…that should be it !
